Very Rare Orion EON ED-X2 85 Apochromatic Triplet Refractor Telescope Exc. Cond.

Description: Orion EON ED-X2 85mm triplet refractor. One owner. Excellent condition. The f/6.6 focal ratio is fast enough for AP yet suitable for outstanding views with an eyepiece. In fact, all 19 of my eyepieces work great in this scope regardless of whether I use a 1.25" diagonal or a 2" diagonal. There is ZERO false color or CA. Images are so sharp they appear etched on a black velvet sky. I can easily see the GRS on Jupiter and doubles in the Trapezium. One of my other scopes is a larger Sky-Watcher EvoStar 100ED and this scope blows it away. The ED-X2 is a triplet apochromat that utilizes TWO ED elements. One lens is Ohara FPL-53 glass and the other is Ohara FPL-51 glass. Additionally, the scope has a retractable sliding dew shield, CNC-machined rings and focuser, a 360 degree rotatable focuser that also rotates the finder scope, 10:1dual-speed focuser, double thumbscrews on the finder shoe, an open-ended carry handle, red dovetail and red aluminum screw-on dust cap. Furthermore, the original mint condition Orion foam-lined aluminum hard case is included. And that's not all. The 2" and 1.25" visual backs feature red twist-lock rings so you never have to fumble with little thumbscrews again and cameras, diagonals or flatteners are always perfectly centered. And to top it off the tube is a glossy piano black and all accents are red. This scope is not only a magnificent instrument- it also looks amazing!
