Description: Very Rare, Pear shaped diamond ring For someone that appreciates quality This isn’t simply a beautiful and rare ring, it has a history. When I proposed to and later married my wife, I gave her a simple gold band and nothing more. At the time, I couldn’t afford much and wanted to wait until I could give her something that more closely reflected my love for her. After a few years of secretly squirreling away money, I called my uncle, who had been in the jewelry business for more than twenty years. I described what I wanted and told him that it needed to be special, just like my wife. “I think I know of just the stone. It is currently in Israel” he replied. After confirmation by my uncle, I wired the money to a broker in Israel, having never seen the diamond. We had the setting, of Platinum with an 18K gold band, custom made by Pickens Jewelers in Buckhead, Georgia. This ring was on my wife’s finger for more than twenty years as she climbed the corporate ladder. We lived a full life, raising kids, throwing many parties for friends and family, and traveling. Through it all, the ring never failed to attract the attention of others. Men as well as women. It was a conversation starter at corporate events as wives of men that were in upper management would bring their husbands over to show it to them. Eventually we sold our house, moved into our Airstream travel trailer and began a life of full-time travel and adventure. This ring has been on the tops of some of the Highest peaks in the lower 48 states, been chased off of summits by lightning storms, explored slot canyons, rafted down whitewater rivers, toured foreign countries and hiked many of the trails in America’s National Parks. Through it all, the ring continued to be an attention getter, but now, in some of the remote locations we are drawn to, that attention is unwelcome and so it has spent the last couple of years in our safe deposit box, in a bank vault. It’s time to let someone else enjoy this marvelous jewel and write their own story with it. Details: It is a colorless diamond (This colorless rating means that it will sparkle more than a lesser stone. For maximum sparkle, have it cleaned regularly) with SI1 clarity It is 2.30 Carats From the Gem Society website: “Pear shaped diamonds have been around since the late 1400s, making them a classic gem cut worn by women for centuries. Because of their nontraditional cut, pear shaped diamonds are believed to symbolize the empowerment and independence of the wearer. This makes them an excellent choice for women who embody these qualities. Their teardrop shape can also represent tears of joy and happiness represented by this ring.”
