As stated on the Dana Holding Corporation website the Victor Manufacturing & Gasket Company was acquired in 1966. Due to an onslaught of asbestos lawsuits and in addition to a slump in the automotive industry, the Dana Corporation (aka Dana Holding Corp.) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2006. In February 2008, the Dana Holding Corp. emerged from bankruptcy after a reorganization plan was approved. Dana Holding had to set aside $240 million in cash and other assets to cover future asbestos and environmental contamination liabilities, as part of that plan. Asbestos References: There are numerous products containing asbestos in this book. The majority of vehicles/engines listed specify at least one type of asbestos gasket. Many of the engine gaskets were used on passenger cars, trucks, tractors, jeeps, motorcycles, locomotives, construction vehicles, airplanes, marine engines and industrial engines. Photos show the testing and manufacturing of asbestos products with what appears to be no protection for the workers whatsoever.
