I am a big fan of period drama. This series is well researched, the costumes are excellent and the actors well chosen for their parts. In fact, in general I am struck by the historical material that has been uncovered about Victoria over the years. What a remarkable, strong woman. A champion of women's rights in her time. And how wonderful that she found her true love despite her cloistered upbringing. (Today people seem to think you have to date a lot to find 'the one", or or anyone at all, for that matter). This series does a great job of interpreting what daily life would have looked like for this unique woman and her contemporaries. Of course there are historical inaccuracies, but the power of storytelling is in how well it finds relevance with our modern lives, and in how strongly it highlights those parts of history that we can draw strength from.
