Description: Untitled Document Victorian Handmade Honiton Brussels Duchesse Bobbin Lace Spiderweb Collar This antique Victorian era handmade Honiton Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace spiderweb collar dates from the late 19th century. It is handmade of an off white sheer Duchesse Brussels bobbin tape lace, Honiton English style assembled with filmy linen stitch, half stitch veined leaves, raised oversewn bundles of threads, flower sprigs, spiderweb cobwebs and scrolls joined by braided plaits. This lovely lace large collar has a squared wide back, long lappet front ends with a wide rounded inside neckline, no closures and is sheer, unlined. The collar measures 13 inches wide across the back, 16 inches long from front to back and 9 inches wide across the neckline. It is in good condition with only a faint tiny age spot stain and frayed break (see close-ups). Great for upcycling, added dress decoration or for a restoration project. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana handmade lace art! Items are described as accurately as possible, sold as found, possibly having some imperfections and flaws.
