Description: A handsome antique Continental topographical watercolor that dates to c.1845. It is a depiction of the Alpine city of Lucerne, Switzerland perched on the shore of Lake Lucerne with the impressive Swiss Alps peak of Mount Pilatus in the background. The last photo in the gallery is of a c.1855 lithographic view of Lucerne by Isidore-Laurent Deroy, it is not included in the sale, the image was added to accurately identify the time and place of the watercolor on offer here. Good sized, this watercolor measures approx. 10 x 13 inches. It is not signed, the reverse has a numerical notations and couple of areas with illegible notations. No rips, tears, mat burn or old tape, it is in excellent condition and ready for framing.
