Description: Vincent van Gogh The Langlois Bridge at Arles Framed Print 10" x 8" 1950 Vintage Very Good Vintage Condition Frame shows some wear from age Print, matting, glass and frame look very good Locally framed in around 1950's or before Paper backing has some tears Frame size is about 13½" wide x 11½" high (34.3 x 29.2 cm) Print size is about 10¼" wide x 7¾" high (26 x 19.7 cm) Shipping weight is 3 pounds The Langlois Bridge at Arles depicts a woman holding an umbrella as she crosses the Langlois Bridge, following a horse and buggy that just crossed the bridge. The water in the canal subtly reflects the bridge and the few clouds in the sky. Van Gogh uses impasto paint and color to reflect light, much as we would see it in with our eye. Two tall cypress trees and a white house flank the drawbridge which has a moveable center section between stone abutments. The painting is currently at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, Germany. (wikipedia)
