Description: For sale is a vintage copy of the novel Compulsion by Meyer Levin. The only date in the book is 1956, but this is the movie tie-in. Movie was released in 1959, so it was probably from that year. The book is a mass market Cardinal paperback, original price 50 cents. The book was based on Leopold and Loeb murders, and the movie starred Orson Welles, Diane Varsi, Dean Stockwell, and Bradford Dillman. The book is 512 pages long, not including the 3 pages of book ads at the end of the book. It also has 3 cardstock advertising inserts, see images. The ads also help date the book; Mario Lanza, Student Prince was released in 1956 and Perry Como, We get Letters in 1957. The book is in acceptable condition. There are numerous cover creases, rubbing, edge wear and a creased spine. The binding is intact, although note that I was unwilling to open the book much further than I did, because the binding will crack with anything other than careful handling.
