Description: Vintage 1.6mm Heavy Guage Mountain Bike Rear Brake Cable & Housing, condition is used. Cable length 43-1/8” not including the head. Upper (front) housing section measures 13-3/4”, the rear housing section measures exactly 4” long. From a smoke-free home. This large diameter cable & housing is no longer available. Perfect to finish your vintage mountain bike project or restoration! The ‘Shimano SLR’ logo is still clearly visible in its gold color. This cable and housing is absolutely rust-free and even has the brass cable head bushing!! There are no frays in the cable at all and the only kink is where the pinch bolt was attached. The housing is unlined, which was normal for the day. The inner cable diameter is 1.6mm, the housing outside diameter measures exactly 6.0mm. The cable head measures 8.4mm long and 6.9mm diameter. The brass bushing Is 9.4mm wide and gives a diameter of 8.4mm. I’ve been a bicycle mechanic since 1998 and I’ve never seen this brass bushing before.
