Description: Vintage 18k Gold MCM Modernist 3D Sapphire Freeform Artistic Curves Ring Sz 7.25 Click images to enlarge Description Offered today is a unique vintage Italian-made solid 18k gold mid-century modernist freeform ring with sapphires. If you dare to be different, this one might just float your boat! I have never seen a ring quite like this--it's definitely not cookie-cutter. It is done in 3D style. It is primarily 18k yellow gold, but there are curved white gold bars which meld into the design of the ring, at the top and on one side. The base features three natural blue sapphires, approximately 2.2 mm each, prong set along one edge. The gold wraps around (see photos) to create this very cool freeform open design, and the sapphires just add interest. The ring has a split shank design at the shoulders which comes together at the inside of the finger. It's slightly oval flame-shaped face measures 7/8" north to south, by 5/8" east to west. The ring is marked 750 for 18k, and it weighs 4.4 grams. It's a size 7.25, and is in excellent vintage condition.
