Vintage 1926? Gillette New Improved Bostonian Razor/UNIQUE Date Code/ TWO STAMPS

Description: There are just minimal surface scratches on the top cap, which is smooth and shiny. The stabilizer pins are in great condition along with the threads on the center post. The TTO knob features coarse textured diamond pattern which I believe started post 1921. The hollow barreled handle has no cracks or fissures. It features the smooth diamond pattern and the Nov. 13, 1920 patent stamp on the smooth collar. The open comb guard is in great condition with only the two end teeth on the same side ever so slightly bent inwards, which will have no impact on the quality of your shave. The date code stamp, and in this case stamps has me stumped. I’ve done my fair amount of research to no avail. If anyone has a clue please let me know. I’m always fascinated by the history and sometimes the rare anomaly of certain things. Most New Improved razors have a six digit number stamp followed by one letter. This one has five digits and one letter. Then you throw in the inverted three digit number in a larger font. I wish I could give you an answer. Anyway I have one of these in my shave rotation and they’re such a pleasure to shave with. Smooth and highly efficient. The razor is in great condition and it has been cleaned and sanitized. The lifting case is in good working order and it does shut, but I’ve had days when it didn’t want to shut. The exterior has the typical surface scratches and wear but it looks pretty good after hand polishing it a couple hundred times. The inside is fair with the Gillette and Bostonian logos mostly visible. The eggplant velveteen is hanging in there and this case does have the handle cradle. I didn’t have a silver blade bank so I’ve included a five pack of razor sharp KAI stainless steel double edge blades.
