Vintage 1940's RARE Airline / E.V V-1 "Velocity" Ribbon microphone w 423 stand

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a highly collectible and rare variant of the 1940's era Electro Voice V-1 "Velocity" Ribbon microphone. This is the Airline brand V-1 model that was sold under license and was virtually the exact same microphone except for the brand badge and the unique umber brown paint scheme that Airline chose to use. This Airline V-1 has been tested and is in non-working condition though it's 100% complete inside and it comes with a matching 1940's era Electro Voice 423 model desk stand. A smaller ribbon mic made by E.V and certainly one of the most unique. This would make a great display piece in any vintage mic collection or a mod project for anybody wanting to rebuild this rare mic to actually use. Pic # 2 is from an old 1946 Electro Voice advertisement showing it's basic characteristics. I only know of two other brands that sold this 1st generation V-1 microphone. That of Philco and Airline but the Airline brand is the rarest of the two. The V-1 series is about 3 times smaller than the much larger V-2 produced by Electro Voice during the same time period. This V-1 measures 6 1/2 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide. The all metal painted body shows very lite wear as seen in the pictures provided and one of the nicer V-1 models I have ever offered for sale on Ebay or Reverb. The Airline label looks pretty damn nice too. The V-1 sits on it's original yoke / swivel and it works nicely allowing just the right amount of tension and desired angle. There is wear on the chrome tightening thumb screws but they work perfectly. The front chrome screen has zero tarnishing or dents. The rear screen has one small subtle spot of tarnish but also free of dents. All original components inside including original ribbon, transformer and all screws. The on / off switch still works and slides smooth. I find that few V-1's still work so this example is typical of a V-1 this age being non-working. This will make a very nice display mic however unless you have the ribbon and motor replaced. I know a gentleman who owns ENAK based out of New Jersey who can get this up and sounding fantastic for a very reasonable price if you are interested? Cosmetically this V-1 is a very conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is is a harder to come by late 30's to 1940's era E.V 423 microphone desk stand. This is an all aluminum stand with a polished chrome base and satin chrome stem. This model was widely produced by Electro Voice during the 1940's but was discontinued with the 2nd generation E.V 423A model starting in the 1950's. The 423 stand really compliments the Airline V-1 mic as well and provides a stable platform. This particular E.V stand has very typical wear and as you can see. Very lite scuffs, scratches and pitting on the top of the base. The satin chrome stem is very nice however. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 4 rubber pads are included and will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic stand with microphone attached is appx 10 inches tall X 4 3/4 inches wide. If you are a serious collector of vintage Americans mics then you know what a unique mic this is. She'll make an awesome display piece anywhere it sits in the home, studio or office.
