Description: This was my late husband's mother's jacket. She gave it to me in the early 1970's when I was a size 8. I never had an opportunity to wear it, so it has seen no use since it was in style during the 1940's. It has been stored since the 1950's. The jacket is wrinkled and will require ironing or steaming. The jacket is fully lined and designed to sit at the waist, or slightly below it, which is why it is referred to as a waist coat style. The cut of the fabric is atypical. It has no shoulder seams. Most of the jacket is one large piece, with the lower front center pieces shaping the bust, and a piece on each side under the sleeve to the waist. I believe that the fur collar is dyed mink. It appears as though the fur collar was added later. There is a traditional collar beneath the fur collar.
