Vintage 1950's Electro Voice 345 microphone shock mount adapter 725 726 V-1 # 2

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. This is a rarer 1950's era Electro Voice 345 model shock mount / adapter for many microphones that could be screwed onto any stand or boom arm. This desirable adapter / shock mount allows you to either hang your microphone from above your boom arm or merely mount it to any stand desired. This is a harder to come by early E.V shock mount and this model has the AD-1 adapter that allows you to mount the shock mount on either an RCA stand or any mic stand. The AD-1 adapters are worth between $35.00 and $45.00 alone. The 345 was made for about 10 years by E.V but seems to be a hard to finder accessory these days as they were generally designed for the higher end E.V mics of the day such as the V-1, V-2, V-3, 725, 726, 730, 731, 645 & 650 models. You can put any mic clip on top of this shock mount though. Pic # 2 shows this very adapter in an old E.V catalog along with some other E.V accessories. Pic # 3 shows the 345 used with the E.V 725 model mic. These shock mounts helped to absorb any unwanted thumps or other hard hits that could give unwanted feedback while the mic was live. The 345 is an all metal construction with a satin chrome finish and it has a bit of weight to it. Built like a tank. As you can see in the pics provided this 345 is in very good overall original condition despite the physical wear. There is some pitting and lite scratches here and there but it works perfectly and nothing is loose. I would rate the cosmetic condition an honest 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. It should be noted that the clearance on the top of the adapter makes it so that this can only be used with certain models of mics. If your threading for your mics cable gets in the way then it simply won't work. You can however install a short riser on top so that any mic or mic clip can be used.
