Description: VINTAGE 1950s Morris Moskowitz “MM” Black Velvet Evening Clutch Bag This vintage clutch bag belonged to my grandmother and was part of her spectacular purse collection purchased at high end department stores. Designed by Morris Moskowitz, who concentrated on making fabric handbags, and manufactured by his company the Morris Moskowitz Corporation (“MM”), it is a classic vintage piece: a soft velvet clutch with satin lining. Only used for special occasions by Grandma, this bag has been carefully stored and not used for the past six decades. It is difficult to photograph the beauty of vintage velvet. The clutch measures about 8” wide, about 5.25” tall and 9.75” when fully open. It closes tightly with a brass button clasp marked FULCO PROV R.I. There are 3 sections/compartments inside the clutch and the original “MM” tag is still attached. There is no staining, tears, etc. on the velvet. The small inside pocket (where you could put an ID card or credit card) has some gold trim that has slightly peeled. Overall, this bag is in truly wonderful condition for being 70 years old.
