VINTAGE 1950'S PERSONAL ELECTRIC TURBINE FAN - UNUSED IN ORIG BOX JAPAN NOS WRKS

Description: Lot Consists of a Vintage New Old Stock, 1950's Personal Electric Turbine Fan. Pink and White Fan with Clear Fan Blade Cover (marked: "Personal Fan" in Gold Embossing). Fan comes in **Unused Condition** with it's original electric cord still wrapped and in it's cardstock wraps with it's original Styrofoam inner packing. Outer packaging has "W-8178", "Pink" and "Made in Japan" markings. Fan is approx. 5-1/8" High x 5-1/8" Wide with a 3-1/2" diameter turbine blade housing. Works! See Note Below.Fan comes in condition found and as it is pictured. The plastic on a couple of the turbine fins and on the inside of the base has lightly melted to the power cord as a lot of older plastic pieces do when they come in contact with other plastic. The wrapped power cord appears to have also reacted with the Styrofoam box and has a sticky residue on some of it. We did not attempt to clean it as it is not noticeable if the fan is display in the Styrofoam, we left that determination up to the new owner as this is a very hard to find piece in this "unused" or "as new" new old stock condition. The piece resembles the 1950's Morris Struhl "Valiant" Personal Electric Fan from the same era, but has no markings as such. I am certain there aren't many..... if any like this one..... in this condition. Great addition to your Fan Collection. Grab it while you can.**NOTE: I did carefully plug the power cord into a grounded outlet and not only did it work, but it actually worked quite well. I was impressed, especially since it does not appear to have been powered up since being made in the late 1950's. The outer box is toning from age and has owner's name written in black marker on both sides. The inner Styrofoam has a melted hole in top half as described earlier. As stated before, we did not attempt to clean the fan, so you are getting it in "as found" condition. Be Sure To View Images To Make Your Own Determination As To Item Condition.
