Description: This is a Vintage 1954 "Wheel 'N Deal" Las Vegas Casino Game Set, advertising "GAMING STYLED FROM FABULOUS LAS VEGAS" and "EACH PLAYER OWNS A CASINO". The set contained elements for Poker, Craps, Roulette, and "21" (Blackjack). As found, there are some items missing as detailed below The coolest thing about this game is that three game elements feature casino logos from some of Las Vegas' legendary casinos of the past: Wilber Clark's Desert Inn, the New Frontier, the Sahara, El Rancho Vegas, the Thunderbird, and the Showboat. With the 2011 demise of the Sahara, all six of these casinos, are now part of Las Vegas history. The casino logos appear on: the cardboard "Casino Owner" plaques a Casino logo die the four side panels of the box lid. The premise of the game, built are the four casino games above, is that up to six players are each an "owner" of one of the casinos, after choosing the corresponding casino owner plaque and placing it in front of them. Each player, in turn, rolls the specially included dice: one die with the six casinos as the pips, and the other with the each of the four games as a pip and "Dealer's Choice" on the other two faces. The owner of the casino rolled on the casino die acts as the banker / house for the next game. The game die determines the next game to be played, unless the Dealer's Choice is rolled in which case the Casino Owner on the other die chooses the next game. There are guidelines about the length of play for each game, but basically the players determine during the game set up, the duration of a "game" following each roll of the dice, e.g. 5 hands of poker, 6 spins on roulette, 6 hands of blackjack, or 4 "hands" of craps. The game is from the Atlantic Playing Card Co., Inc., New York and Los Angeles. Listed below are first the included items, then some extras & replacement I am including that are not original to the set. Then there is a list of items that I believe may be missing. This is partly speculation on my part since the rules do not detail the contents, and there may be other items missing as well. The game and added items are offered as found / as seen / as described with respect to any missing items, and as to condition as detailed in the Condition section. The included original items are: Original Box with nice vintage graphics and 1950s Casino logos Two sided, 30" x 28" green plastic layout with craps on one side and roulette on the other. The sheet is a fairly heavy guage of plastic. Plastic roulette wheel Six panel, tri-fold instruction sheet with 1954 copyright date 3/4" dice with inscribed and painted casino names and game names as detailed above original cardboard insert The items I believe may be missing include, but is not limited to: Dice for playing craps Cards for playing blackjack and poker chips for playing roulette roulette number marker to freeze the game and mark the last spin. Players cannot touch any chips on the layout, nor place any bets until the banker has collected all losing bets, paid all winning bets, and removed the marker from the layout There are slots in the black cardboard insert, about the roulette wheel that held the dice. There are two smaller rectangular slots below the wheel. I do not know what these were for. Perhaps one for marking the roulette spin as described above. The additional items, not original to the set, that I am including are: a pair of vintage ivory colored plastic dice with an organza gold mesh fabric drawstring bag that can hold both sets of dice a contemporary deck of poker sized playing cards from The Venetian, Las Vegas (on the site of the former legendary Sands Casino. These cards were used briefly for actual casino play and then retired, sealed for give away and/or sale in the casino gift shop. It is common to mark these cards to prevent a card cheat from slipping one in at the tables. Common marking methods include shaving or blacking one corner, drilling, or cutting small curved arcs on the long sides. Since this deck is sealed, I do not know what method may have been employed. a vintage yellow wooden Parcheesi token to use to mark the roulette spin a minimal set of small 5/8" diameter, non-interlocking plastic chips for roulette. The set including six markers, each to be placed in front of player to indicate his or her chip color. These chips are really mainly for show since they are far short of the number needed to make realistic payouts. I am sure the origin chips, while more plentiful, were also far to few to be practical in actual play. There are only 8 chips in 5 of the 6 colors, and only 7 in the green set, one of which is mismatched in color. I forgot to show these in the main photo; they are shown in a separate photo. PLEASE NOTE: While the premise represented for the game and some of the included equipment are entirely practical for home play as a game, others are not, so you might want to consider that is game is probably more valuable for display as a vintage casino-related collectible than for actual use, but that evaluation is up to the buyer as well. For full enjoyment as a game, you may want to consider purchasing: a more substantial roulette wheel and a larger set of miniature interlocking plastic chips (the 7/8" size would be about right for the squares involved) for use in all of the games. At the time of the original listing, I was also in the process of adding several listing for dice from various now closed Las Vegas casinos. Condition: Plastic Layout - excellent condition Roulette wheel - good working order, although it does not spin very long compared to a more substantial or ball bearing driven wheel. You will see in a close that there was an apparent flaw in the original assembly. The clear plastic cover appears to be clouded at a number of places around the edge due to an excess of plastic model glue being applied Game Dice - excellent condition Rule sheet - very good condition with just some very, minor slight crease marks from normal handling and reading, seen mainly on close inspection only Original box - the box is generally in very good condition with the exception of heavy wear at the back corners of the lid and moderate wear along the back edge, and some depression of the lid from the corners to the center as is very common on old game boxes. Added items - all of the added items are in excellent condition The set is offered as found / as seen / as described.
