Description: For sale is a pair of Vintage 1960s Bostonian Mansfield Arch Saver Black Calfskin Leather Apron Toe Moc Derby Dress Shoes MOD Men's 11 D/B. For your consideration is a pair of classic vintage MOD Apron Toe Derby Dress Shoes, in supple black calfskin, from the famed American Shoemaker, Bostonian. This is from their famed Mansfield Shoes line. I did not see this particular style in the 1962 Bostonian Shoes catalog, but you can see many comparable styles with subtle differences. These shoes feature a richly patinaed black calfskin leather upper, classic Midcentury MOD Apron Toe Moc Derby dress shoe design, round waxed braided black laces, leather and cotton twill (for ventilation) lining, leather sockliner, cushioned leather insole, leather midsole, original leather "Mansfields" branded outsole, original rubber Mansfields heel (with nails), and Goodyear Welted Construction. For reference, here are the approximate measurements (taken along the outsole): Length - just under 12.375" Width (at the ball of foot) - 4.125" *Note: When I found this pair, they had very heavy cracking along the vamps (especially on the left shoe). I attempted to remedy this with Tarrago Leather Filling Paste, followed by my standard restoration (deep conditioning/polish). I believe they are now serviceable, but they are far from perfect. They are rare, but given their condition, I will offer them at a competitive price. I rehydrated these shoes with Weimans Leather Conditioner, cleaned and conditioned them, inside and out, with Weimans Leather Wipes, applied Tarrago's Leather Filling Paste (2 applications about 16 hours apart) to areas of cracking, waited a day and sanded the topcoat of filler, then deep cleaned and conditioned them with Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner, and polished them with Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream.
