Description: This Harlequin pattern Teisco is another example of Triage Guitar Shop of West Palm Beach Flotida saving an abused or abandoned vintage guitar from extinction. This double cutaway Kawai Teisco is a little rare because it has a set neck rather than the common bolt on. It was a depopulated husk when I bought it. The list below details the actions taken to transform this orphan into a cool, unique and upgraded piece of playable art. Body and neck were cleaned. Body was patched and sanded and refinished in black. A Harlequin diamond pattern was hand painted and antiqued on the front of the body. The neck fingerboard was treated and the frets checked for level and polished with 0000 steel wool. Large ivory finish button Vintage 6 inline Locking Tuners were installed on the headstock, which was accented in lime green and adorned with a Harlequin decal. A Custom lime green pickguard was designed and fabricated to accomodate two lipstick style pickups, 1V1T full size controls w/cap and a 3-way selector switch. All electronics are new and wired with shielded cable The body was routed to recess the pickups and fit the 3 way switch. Pickup rings were installed to dress up pickup routing. New set of Ernie Ball (.009-.042) Super Slinkys were installed. Every note was repeatedly played to detect and eliminate dead or buzzy notes. Dont miss this cool and unique treasure.
