Description: Vintage 1967 Original Leeming Pfizer Hai Karate 4oz Cologne Splash 99% FULL In 1967, the Leeming company, a division of Pfizer, launched its fragrance Hai Karate, accompanied by massive advertising under the motto "Be careful how you use it." Hai Karate is an example of the aromatic retro-barber-type fougères that followed Canoe Dana. A distinct lemon-lavender beginning, with a light animalic tint like in Jicky. Dry herbal greens and confident coumarin are in the heart, tinted by the sweetness of heliotropin and white powdery carnations, followed by a weak base, slightly sweet due to vanillin, yellowish-white musky, soft and powdery. The soft smell of green soap, to be honest. The smell is hard to call strong, there's no karate power there. There is a nostalgic flair in the aroma, this cannot be denied - but that’s why the slogan “Be careful in using” has become relevant again now. My uncle was quite the player back in the day and he liked to smell good. He's asked us to help him clean out his house now that he's in an assisted living facility. It's like walking back in time. We have many of his items up for bid to help pay for his medical expenses. I believe this cologne lasted the test of time due to the foil lined cap pictured. I'm assuming my uncle used it once and moved on to another cologne. I will be posting his other vintage colognes as I get time.
