Description: Vintage 1971 Panasonic TR-005 Orbital Space Age TV Up for auction, the 1971 Panasonic TR-005 Space Age Television, manufactured in Japan, loved by collectors for resemblance to a flying saucer. Often referred to as “the Eye" or the “Sputnik" Orbital TV, after the first man-made satellite ever launched into Earth’s orbit in 1957. This highly collectible Space Age Television would make a great addition to any collection. CONDITIONTV powers on and all knobs turn smoothly. Please note, you will need a digital antenna and adapter to get reception. Thumb wheels to control brightness, volume, and contrast. V-HOLD & H-all appear to be functioning, you can see differences in the volume, contrast, brightness, static image, etc when turning. The oval shaped plastic silver case is in overall good condition. There are a few minor scuffs and scratches. The black bezel has some chips out of it. One of the telescoping antennae is missing its topper. Both extend as they should. Their attachment points do seem slightly loose and wobbly, but the antennae stay in position as they should. I do not have a digital antenna or adaptor to test that it is getting stations.
