Vintage 1978 Southern Hills Country Club Tulsa, Okla Tennis Trophy Silver Plate

Description: This listing is for a fantastic pedestal base silver-plated trophy from the Southern Hills Country Club 1978 “Scissortail Tennis Invitational.” This beauty is awarded to the “Runner Up-Friday.” Check out that the actual Southern Hills logo is what’s on the trophy – not just the country club’s name engraved. Southern Hills is a private club located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was established in 1936. Its renown golf course was home to the 2022 PGA Championship won by Justin Thomas. Tiger Woods won the PGA Championship there too in 2007. • Silverplated bowl style trophy with stem or footed base. The trophy measures approximately 6 3/4” tall. The base is 3 1/2” wide and the opening of the bowl is 4 3/8” in diameter. The underside of the trophy is stamped “E.P.C.A Silver Plate, (can’t make this name out) Silver Company, 031 (?)”. I spent time polishing the trophy; however, I’m confident it can get even shinier. There are NO dents or dings in this item. There are a few surface scratches on the lower side of the bowl away from the engraving. See photo. The scratches appear deeper in the photo than they are. Nonetheless, want to make sure and mention all notes to condition. These may polish out with more than elbow grease. This trophy will be a fun, retro addition to your decor.
