Description: Here is an original Anthony Carter Minnesota Vikings Sand Knit jersey, featuring an attached sewn nameplate. If you're not familiar, Sand Knit was the official team outfitter for the Vikings (and most of the NFL) from the mid-1960s up until 1990, when Wilson took over. Sand Knit also invented the concept of a retail jersey, circa the late 1970s. This early retail jersey features screenprinted numbers and stripes, just like the actual Vikings jerseys worn on the field during this time. (They didn't switch to sewn twill numbers until 1995.) The so-called "crown tag" on this example dates it to the range 1987–1989, which coincides with the pinnacle of Anthony Carter's career—he was named to the Pro Bowl in each of these seasons (and no others). Indeed, at this time Anthony Carter was, along with Kirby Puckett, the face of Minnesota sports. While Sand Knit jerseys did not feature nameplates, due to lacking the NFLPA license, this one had one attached after its original sale. The jersey is tagged size Medium, and here's the measurements:Pit to pit: 19 inchesTop to bottom: 30 inchesFeel free to reach out with any questions! James
