Vintage 50s Hedi Schoop Ceramic Asian Lamp Mid Century MCM Modern Lighting

Description: ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a wonderful all-original vintage table lamp designed by Hedi Schoop. Circa '50s. Theme: Asian / Figural. The comes with its original pagoda-style cloth shade and Asian motif finial (see photos). The lamp is double sided: the front side features and Asian woman, while the back side features an Asian man. The ceramic base rests atop a brass base (again, see photos). The lamp operates with a standard on/off rotary knob switch. It does not appear to be marked insofar as we've been able to detect, but all research points to it being a Hedi Schoop design. MEAUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 26" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial). The ceramic portion of the lamp measures approx. 10.5" tall x 8' wide x 5" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 15" high. The shade measures 14" wide x 11.5" tall x 8.5" deep. The metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 8.5" wide x 6" deep. The final measures approx. 1.5" wide x 2" tall. CONDITION: Overall, both the lamp base and shade are in very good, all-original condition. The base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The female side of the lamp shows light traces minor gold color loss, but nothing terrible or overly glaring (see photos). The cloth shade is free from rips, holes, tears, stains, repairs, etc. The brass metal base is also in nice shape - no dents, dings, repairs, breaks, rust, oxidation, etc. The electrical wiring looks original to the lamp, and it is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
