About the company: Manuel and Lucille Miller operated a small studio pottery in the mid-1950s under the company name 'Wildlife of Birchland'. Their studio also did painting on wooden items for the home. He created the wood objects; she did the painting. Almost more interesting is life of the artists, Manuel and Lucille Miller. They were libertarians and anti-draft protesters who were arrested after a 12-hour stand-off with U.S. Marshalls, who then threw Lucille in an insane asylum for a short period. In VT. In the 1950s.
