Description: I have here for sale, a 1960s Kingston/Teisco bass in amazing shape and in complete working order. With its hollow body viola shape and two fantastic single coil pickups. It's a visually unique bass that sounds as good as it looks. On the bridge pickup, the tone is very bright and present, with great growl and high end. In the neck position things get a bit deeper and fuller, With the tone almost down to zero, the low end fills out in a significant way.Weighing only 6lbs 4oz with a comfortable 30 1/2" scale length, the bass is easy on the back and perfect for players who prefer the more a more compact scale. The neck profile is a medium C with a smooth gloss finish and the bound rosewood fretboard sports pearloid rounded block inlays. The frets are in great shape and play cleanly up the neck, and the tuners turn smoothly All of the electronics work well, with pots that turn smoothly and pickups that have a balanced output. The original chrome hardware is remarkably clean and this bass has been very well cared for over the decades. The carved rosewood thumbrest and brown tortoise pickguard are present. Cosmetically, this bass is a really rare find as there aren't many in this good of shape still around. Only a few small scuffs around the edges of the body, As the photos show, this bass is clean as can be.
