Description: This listing is for a Sony TC-758 Reel to Reel Tape Unit This unit is listed as a unit for parts or repair.Here is a summation of what I have learned about it.I acquired it from the original owner. It comes in the original box and will be shipped in the original box.The packing styrofoam is not all there, but will be packed very well. The unit powers on, and all the buttons seem to work.The problem is that when tape in inserted and functions are attempted the tape does not move in play mode.The unit will FF and RWI have checked over it and it appears that the left motor seems very reluctant to turn.This may be a simple brake problem as the brake may notbe disengaging. I did use some leader tape and tricked the unit to operatethe motors without a reel on them and they bothseemed to turn as they should have. Cabinet is in very good condition.Comes with the original manual. Please look very carefully at the photosfor an idea of condition and appearance. Handling charges cover ship insurance and packing materials.I am not investing the time to restore as I have too many other projects on the table.
