Vintage 9-77 John Romain Brown Leather Tweed Brass Doctors Bag Handbag Dbl Strap

Description: This is a quality made vintage handbag by John Romain. In a doctor's bag style, this satchel is structured with wooden bars at the top and perfectly shaped nut-brown leather surrounding it. The bag is covered in tweed fabric and trimmed in leather. The inside is lined in the brown leather. There is one pocket inside with a tab closure, and the snap does not work. Behind this is another wall pocket where you will see John Romain 9-77. (Truthfully, it could be 71 but I believe it to be 77.) This is the month and year when this bag was made. There are 5 cone-shaped feet on the bottom and double leather straps to carry by hand or to rest perfectly just below your elbow like the old days. There is a small bag of extra tacks and buttons that came with the bag. This bag is not in perfect condition. It is vintage and has been carried over the years. There are signs of use such as leather scratches, gold loss on the closure, snap on the pocket and a few dirty spots on the tweed. All of these are not a big deal but are mentionable.
