This is chainmail popularized in the early 20th century. It is made of what is called Alpacca Silver, a copper alloy. This is a German purse and is stamped "GERMANY ALPACA" on the inside of the metal rim of the purse. Measurements: body 7 x 5 3/4 in; with chain : 12 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches Condition: Condition is commensurate with age and use. Scuffs and losses. There is an area where the links have come undone on the hinges, but this can probably be repaired with patience and care. Please see photos.
