Description: Hand crafted museum quality recreation of a very early and rare prewar television set from the late 1920's. I use original parts from prewar radio cabinets along with new construction and electronics from solid state black and white portable television sets to bring back to life early television viewing. The set is similar in appearance to the original sets created in the late 1920's. It has a 5 1/2" diagonal black and white screen which appears larger secondary to a large magnifying lens just like the original and a nice loud speaker. Period appropriate knobs (which are all functional), and wood finishes. The knobs are for brightness, on/off, volume and channel tuning on the front and vertical hold and contrast on the back. Measurements ( approx): 19" tall, 15" wide and 12" deep. The set has been converted to coaxial and may be attached directly to a cable box, DVD/VCR player, or a laptop using an HDMI to coaxial adapter which is available from many sources. A 6 ft snap-on coaxial cable and a 3 plug to coaxial adapter are included with his set for quick set up with most DVD players. If you have any set up and function questions please ask. Original prewar television sets are extremely rare as very few were made, few families could afford one and very little programming was available. Most of them reside in museums today and when one does come to market, it commands prices in the tens of thousands. I make these sets because I have always been fascinated by the thought of television being available in the 1920's and 30's and what it is like to view one today!
