Description: This will be one of a kind gift!I am Japanese American and I recently inherited these special plates. Both of plates have been stored in a smoke free, pet free clean house since around 2000. There was no record or paper indicating when this was made but it was probably created in 1990s. About the artist:The artist's name is Shurei Miura who did pottery and paint near Mt.Fuji, Japan. He has received multiple awards and one of his art was show-cased in Smithsonian museum in Washington DC for "Japan modern pottery art exhibition".I am not able to find recent his work online so he may be retired. About the plates:Per my research, these plates were made by Mt.Fuji soil (lava soil and burnt sand that come from Mt.Fuji. Mixed with ashes from silver grass and wooden pieces). Coated with the artist's special smear/laquar created by Mt.Fuji elements. Everything about the plates are all pure Mt.Fuji. Red Mt.Fuji: Usually it represents the sunset or sunrise time of Mt.Fuji. When the red sunshine shines and Mt.Fuji turns to beautiful red color!White Mt.Fuji: Mt.Fuji covered with snow. One of the best time to see Mt.Fuji.These plates are pair, thus it is not for individual sale. Dimensions and weights of one box.
