(whitework embroidery that traditionally uses an unbleached cotton thread on a piece of unbleached muslin creating motifs taken from nature).HOBNAIL - (or terry weave) is large loops of heavy yarn raised on the spread to form a design.CHENILLE - same principle but loops are clipped, giving the spread a fuzzy look.MATELASSE’ - thick, intricate quality by using unique techniques and innovative construction.
