Description: Rare Vintage Bernardaud Limoges “Musset” Dessert Plate 7.75” White Swirl Gold. Gorgeous & elegant Bernardaud design with a white swirl base and gilded laurels. There are signs of wear appropriate to their age, particularly in the swirl pattern (see photos), but there are no chips or cracks. Please bear in mind since there are 11 total plates, your plate may differ slightly but all have similar signs of wear and I photographed several plates to give you an idea of general condition. I couldn’t find out much about this pattern as it seems quite rare, but there was a Brazilian auction house with a similar listing dating it to the 1950s. These appear to have been manufactured for the French market since the back stamp contains additional information in French rather than English. It roughly translates to “After an old model from the Manufacturer Sèvres” (a porcelain factory founded in 1740 and a favorite of Marie Antoinette).
