Description: Original owner of this vintage metal toy made in Japan in the late 1960's/early 1970's. It's a "4-door Cadillac convertible". Don't think Detroit ever produced such an animal but for some reason the Japanese toy maker produced this model. The Caddy has a battery operated motor that you "start" with a knob on the dash where the glovebox is located. The second knob at that location turns on the headlights, a horn is operated by pushing in on the steering wheel, steering is activated via turning the steering wheel, with the motor running two forward gears and reverse can be selected by moving the stick shift between the bucket seats. The battery compartment has some corrosion but it doesn't appear to be damaged to the point it would not work with some proper cleaning of the battery contacts. The Caddy could definitely use a good wash and wax. I'm leaving the ", restoration" to the people who respect and know how to restore and persevere this type of history. I remember this toy pretty well and recall it all worked when it was packed away but I was frustrated as a kid because sometimes the lights and ignition switches would vibrate to the off position during play.
