Description: Vintage Carpie porcelain Arabic coffee service consisting of a coffee pot, 8 cups and an incense burner. The set was purchased new by the seller, has never been used and is in excellent condition without damage. There are some light wear marks on the top gold rim of the coffee pot on which the coffee pot’s lid sits. The word “Carpie” is in gold lettering on the side of the incense burner and on the side each cup and the underside of all pieces bear the words “Porcellane” and “Carpie D’Arte”. The exterior of all service pieces are finished in a raised netting pattern that is overlaid with a decor of grape branches from which hang grape leaves and clusters of grapes. The grape branches are finished in gold, the leaves are trimmed in gold and are finished in a white and two tone blue color and the grapes in the grape clusters are finished in gold and set against a dark blue background. Both the inside and outside of the coffee pot’s spout, except for the inside bottom tip of the spout which is white porcelain, the coffee pot’s handle and the grip on the coffee pot’s lid are finished in gold. A band of gold surrounds the bottom edge of the coffee pot’s lid and a band of gold also surrounds the top and bottom edges of the coffee pot. The coffee pot’s lid can be locked in place when serving coffee. The coffee pot is approximately 12.25” high with its lid in place, approximately 8.25” high without its lid in place and is approximately 6” wide at its widest point. The coffee cups are 2” high and have a top diameter just under 2.5”. The top and bottom edges of each cup are trimmed in gold and a thin decorative gold band surrounds the upper portion of each cup. The ¼” space below the top edge of each cup has a smooth porcelain finish and the balance of the cup is finished with a raised netting pattern. The incense burner is approximately 9” high at its highest point and measures 4.5” x 4.5” across its top. A removable brass plated metal tray sits in the top of the incense burner. The top of the incense burner has an inside depth of approximately 2.5” as measured to the top of the sides rather than to the top of the raised corners. The raised upper corners of the incense burner are finished in gold and all the edges of the pedestal base are trimmed in gold. Each side of the incense burner is finished in an identical décor.
