Vintage Case XX USA 1965-69 6445R Scout Knife Nice Red Bovine Bone

Description: CASE XX USA !965-1969 stamp. Pattern # 6445 R “Scout Utility Knife”, 3-3/4” closed (plus bail).Brass liners with pinned oval CASE shield. The blade steel is CV (carbon) steel.All blades have great strong snap.Spear blade has very slight side to side wobble.The three tool blades are each tight, no wobble.Red bovine bone handles with great color.Each handle has a tight fine hairline (hard to see) from the upper handle pin to the top bolster.The handles have no other cracks or damage.A used knife – carried, spear blade was very lightly sharpened.The spear blade is full, has patina.The other blades are all full and each shows some use, stains, minor tarnish. The backsprings have patina.Nice solid knife with extra nice handles!The handles on this knife were crafted from South American Zebu cattle shin bone. Genus/Species - Bos indicus or Bos taurus indicus.
