Description: This vintage Chad Valley wooden jigsaw puzzle is a true gem for any collector. This is truly an unusual puzzle, as each piece is formed out of plywood, approx 1/4" thick, each. Originally made in 1935, the portrait is that of the Royal wedding of Princess Marina of Greece and Prince George-Duke of Kent on November 24th, 1934, one year prior to King George V's Silver Jubilee for which this print also featured. Interestingly, and as was common practice, the faces have all been carefully cut as single pieces, as shown in the pictures. Number of pieces: Approximately 225, which are in very good condition. I have not assembled the puzzle, but did count the pieces, and there are actually over 225 pieces, hence, approximately. Finished size is unknown, though may be approximately 17" x 13" The box is original, and in surprisingly good shape, considering the age. Does have noticeable edge wear, remnants of a sticker on the front and back, and the original pink color has faded.
