VINTAGE CLASSIC SONY DISCMAN D-10 Portable CD PLAYER AC ADAPTO BATTERY CAR MOUNT

Description: Updated 4/8/24 with additional pictures.: Used, doesn’t play but it does turn ON and when I press play I can hear a spinning going on, but the disc doesn’t spin and of course no sound. The view CD window plate has come out, the adhesive has simply dried up over the decades. It could easily be mounted and glued back in place but I’ve left it out for the next owner hobbyist to do. Top lip opens and closes and locks, a bit sticky possibly rubs on front but a little light pressure back and it closes and locks fine, but the open button works to dis-engage the close lock mechanism and the lock mechanism works. I can’t really tell, I’ve included a picture but if there is normally some metal cover over/around the open button that may be missing. See the new pictures added 4/8 This has been MINE since day 1 sometime back in I think the late 1980’s. It was bought NEW from the SHARPER IMAGE. For you young whippersnappers it was the catalogue version of Amazon back in the day. It was the absolute BEST portable CD player at the time. Comes with Sony Discman D-10, AC-930A ac adaptor. I know this is working since when I plug it into the discman the LCD lights do come on, so it’s getting power from the AC adaptor. Battery Pack BP-100. This was the original battery pack. I can’t tell if it will work or not. I’ve left it all plugged in for ~ 10 hours and the battery doesn’t SEEM to take a charge. It connects to the player fine. Could be contacts, could be the cell is just gone after ~ 15 years of no use. Car Mount Plate CPM-100P - this was a nice feature.. floating mount plate, 12v plug, when mounted it absorbed shocks from the car and let the CD player play without missing a beat! comes with Case Logic carrying case - this was a nice case for this combo. Kept it safe for many years. You can SEE there is a small dimple on the top of the case. I think it’s a mild dent. Not sure when that happened. Doesn’t seem to be visible from the inside so it seems more cosmetic than anything. I’ve added pictures of that area for more detail on 4/8/24 I’m selling it AS IS.. consider it not working. I’m thinking that some hobbyist or collector can probably get something working again but I make no promises or guarantees.
