The can opener in the photos has small spots on the handles and on the metal throughout. Two small spots on the handle that turns appear to have broke through chrome plating. Nothing that affects it's functionality. You can catch them with your fingernail. We tested both on a couple cans. They function as expected. A Nice Kitchen Collectible or use them if you prefer. We had the newer cheap made China can openers and they work for a short time and then fail! We even had a Pampered Chef opener that failed soon after we started using it. They have a plastic handle to turn to advance the opener and the plastic released from the metal shaft and failed to function! Not so with the Swing-A-Way!
