Description: Hello! For your consideration is a near-mint Conn New Wonder II tenor saxophone - Often colloquially referred to as the "Chu Berry" model, this example sports an extremely rare "00 Artist's Special" Finish. It has the uncommon engraving of the "dancing lady" with much floral embellishment throughout the bell, as well as hand-burnished quadruple gold plating that sparkles in the light (See video). This instrument plays with a huge free tone, rich and dark but with plenty of cut and usable for both heritage and modern music styles. This example was recently serviced and plays very well top to bottom on current pads. There are a few minor rough spots on the body but are minor and hard to notice (pictured). The finish is hard to describe as it sparkles fiercely - We have confirmed with several experienced technicians that it is in fact gold plated and not some type of Lacquer. This sax is an incredible time capsule, the finish is exceedingly rare, and it plays very very well. This would be perfect in any collection of vintage American big-voiced saxophones! This beautiful saxophone comes with an aftermarket Hiscox Case ($500+ new), though this one has some tape over some damage on the bottom (pictured) area. Shipping is only available to the Lower 48 States of the USA, and FREE SHIPPING is included!! Please message with any questions. Any reasonable offers will be considered. Thank you, and have a great day!
