Vintage 27" Constrictor Conloy Alloy Clincher Rim for Vintage British Road bikes & Path Racers. The Constrictor Conloy Rim was the Rim of Choice in Prewar era "1930s & 1940s". It's a good looking round profile rim, cutting edge and light weight for the times. These Rims long to be laced up with Harden or BH Air Light High Flange Hubs and Used on Vintage Brit Bike Road Bike & Path Racers like: Raleigh, Carlton, BSA, Hetchins, Bob Jackson, Gillott, Holdsworth, Bates, Dawes, Rotrax, Saxon, Hurlow, Woodrup, Uppadine, Major Nichols, or Ephgrave, etc..... Constrictors also produced rims post war but popularity was slightly waning. 27 " was the New and Upcoming tire size Prewar it's now an abandoned size but Lux Low has your covered for Rim & Tire Support. The Use of 27" Rims for restorations is important for a Correct Restorations and Rideabllity. Note: the use of 700c wheels in a 27" frame will give you rear brake reach problems. This 27" rim has ISO or Bead Seat Diameter (BSD) 630mm, 27" size is bigger than 700c and was used before 700c wheels became the standard. Schwinn & Raleigh used the 27" standard much longer than manufacturers. The 27" Clincher Rim for use 27" x 1" - 27" x 1 1/8" - and Most common 27" x 1 1/4" tires. British Bikes used 32 hole front with a 40 hole rear, There seems to be many iterations of the Conloy Rims over the years. Rims are Used and Old, Show wear, Patina, May have small dents / hits, be a tad wavy but should pull true in lacing. These singles can be paired up to make a set but will be slightly different.
