Description: Denon PRA-1500 stereo preamplifier. I tested this unit in my system using the excellent phono stage. I tested both mm & mc inputs. Both work and sound great. I noticed two things that are different than any preamp I’ve used, one is the volume pot is only usable between 11 & 2 o’clock. I don’t know if that’s how these operate but it had a normal range from silent to full sound. Just in a shorter throw than I’ve experienced. The other is that you have to choose source every time you turn it on, it doesn’t return to the last source you had it on. Not a problem but different than my experience. Please feel free to ask any questions. Despite the fact that I tested it and it functions I’m selling it as is for parts or restoration only. I’ll repeat that because I don’t want any confusion, UNIT IS SOLD AS IS FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION. It is priced accordingly.
