Description: I purchased this new in Paris over 50 years ago. Titled Depart pour la Chasse, the tapestry features a depiction of mounted noblemen releasing birds of prey in preparation for a hunt. Crenellated buildings and lush vegetation appear in the background. The images are based on a 16th century original in the Musee de Cluny in Paris. This hand made tapestry is made from 28% cotton, 24% wool, 24% linen and 24% fibran. Excellent condition from non smoking home. I will ship in a box so it will need some ironing prior to hanging.
