Description: This pair of dolls was given to me by my mother-in-law. These dolls do show signs of age and wear, including scuffing, dings, dust/ dirt/ discoloration, possible small holes, and scratches as well as dust, dirt, fraying, holes, yarn pulls, etc. of the yarn on the dresses. The dolls’ hair is thin and missing with “bald spots” in some patches. See pictures. From my online research, I found that these dolls may have been called “travel dolls” and would likely have been manufactured either in the late 40s or early 50s, although they are undated and unbranded so I am not positive of their exact manufacture date. They are definitely vintage. The bodies are made of either plastic or celluloid. I am not sure how to tell the difference so I put plastic in the item specifics. I am not an expert on vintage dolls. The eyes of one of the dolls close and open (and look especially creepy.) The eyes of the other doll are painted on and do not move. I feel that these dolls have a somewhat creepy look and could be used as props for a Halloween or horror set, or would be perfect for someone who is into vintage goth decor style.
