Description: This listing is for a vintage Electric Guitar Neck for a custom project or restoration. This neck was likely from the 1960's or 1970's but has no markings and we do not know which make or model it was intended for. The neck is a mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. It is a bolt on neck and it does not come with any mounting hardware or tuners. This guitar is being sold AS-IS and we will not accept a return or refund. Please read the full description and only purchase this if you are comfortable with the work that this will need to be playable. The neck appears to have been refinished a long time ago. There is still some black paint on the headstock front, back and sides that is patchy and does not appear to be original. The back of the neck has a smooth sanded raw wood feel. There are a few dings on the back of the neck but they are not noticeable when in a playing position. The frets are original and appear to be at a medium height with moderate signs of wear. There are no fret divots currently visible. The fret edges are poking out a bit and this will definitely require some normal fret work to make sure this is playing comfortably. All of the fret markers and side dots appear to be original. The truss rod is fully functional and in good shape. The neck is nice and straight and is not warped or twisted. There are screw holes on the back of the headstock, not placed in any particular configuration. These could be doweled and reset depending on what tuners you would like to put on this. The holes for the tuner ferrules are 3/8" in diameter. The headstock is 5/8" thick. There is no nut on this but the wood width at the nut measures 1-5/8" wide. The neck measures 11-3/4" from the nut to the 12 fret. It measures just under 19" from the nut to the end of the neck heel. The neck has a slim C shaped profile. The heel of the neck appears to have been glued into a neck pocket at some point with wood glue. There is some black paint around the heel. With some patience, you could sand off the wood glue, fill the missing chip out, dowel the neck plate screws, and reset them for a custom build. The heel is 2-1/4" wide, 3-1/2" long, and 15/16" deep. All of this work would require the skill of a professional luthier or guitar tech. This could be a very cool project or custom build if you have the right thing in mind!
