Description: Vintage Outsider Bone Carving Fisherman Sculpture, Signed. The body is a main flipper bone femur of a orca or killer whale. The base is an Ooziva or disc from between the vertebraes of a bowhead whale. The spear is birch, and the fish is carved from the cheekbone of a walrus. All bones used in thousands of years old and have obtained the coloration from burial in the Arctic soils of Alaska. Signed on the bottom by the artist Douglas W. Smith with the notation of the origin of the bones which is Knik River. In good condition with wear consistent with age. Size: 31.75”H x 9”W x 6.5”D
