Description: Vintage Spinet Wine Glass by Fostoria Glass Co circa 1950s Water Goblet white wine glass cut pattern 821 Bar Barware Breweriana The Fostoria Glass Company manufactured pressed, blown and hand-molded glassware and tableware for almost 100 years. Production peaked in 1950 when Fostoria manufactured over 8 million pieces of glass and crystal. Foreign competition steadily increased during the 1970s. So in 1983 Fostoria sold its factory to Lancaster Colony Glass Corporation. By 1986 the factory was closed and the remaining stock was sold off. The beautiful Spinet pattern (stem pattern # 6603 and cut pattern # 821) was not one of the most popular ones produced by Fostoria. But was one that was adored by those who acquired it! With a pair swaying stalks alternating with floating balls encompassing each piece and a musical tone, it is easy to see why the design was admired! The glass measures 6-1/4" tall, has a 3" base, is 3-1/2" across the top and holds 10 fluid ounces! The glass is in excellent vintage condition! There is other damage of note! Whether for the new collector or the connoisseur, this beautiful glass will be a lovely addition to your Fostoria or vintage stemware collection!!
