A company in Boston had originally purchased these in the 1980's and early 1990's -- the assemblies had been fabricated with GAC-3 cable from the Austrian factory in Klosterneuburg just north of Vienna that had been manufacturing cable for Gotham Audio since the 1970's. In the 21st Century the Swiss Gotham company shifted production to Istanbul, Turkey and the original Austrian cable became a rare and highly valued item that has always been a sought- after vintage product, prized by leading recording engineers and Neumann microphone enthusiasts. This vintage Black GAC-3 cable is in very good condition. It is newly terminated with new Neutrik NC3XX series xlr connectors. These 20 foot mic cable assemblies boast the classic three conductor design developed for Neuman microphones in the 1970s, featuring 96 strand conductors & Double Reussen Shielding for best flexibility and superior protection against RFI. Gotham’s GAC-3 has long been the cable of choice for the worlds finest microphones. It is a neutral sounding cable with a highly detailed mid range and a natural top end. Their uncolored reproduction and remarkably effective shielding have made these favorites in recording studios and it’s not uncommon to find 30 + years old GAC-3 assemblies still in regular use.
