Description: Here is a neat old wooden recipe box, with metal hinges, and with an unusual oriental Japanese design motif. There is an interesting landscape scene on the front, showing a mountain in the background (likely Mt. Fuji?), a sailboat on a lake or water, a home on the shore with a tree, and birds flying overhead. The lid has RECIPES on it in an oriental style font. On the bottom is an original sticker reading NEVCO JAPAN. Not sure what type of finish the landscape scene is made of; does not seem to be paint. Perhaps various shades of stain, or other types of finish? The scene is rather subdued, and not very bold; but a more unusual type of recipe box. Wood, measures ~ 5 3/8" across, 3 3/8" wide, and 4 1/2" high; metal hinged. Vintage, used, hinged lid is a little uneven, stained or painted design a little faded, original sticker on bottom.
