The K&E slide rule 4081-3 is a Log Log Duplex Decitrig slide rule1. It was produced by the Keuffel & Esser Company of New York, which donated one to the Smithsonian in 19611. The model sold for $22.50 in 19591. The K&E 4081-3 was a mainstay for engineering students and practicing engineers in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s2. It differs from model 4080-3, the Log Log Duplex Trig, in that the degrees on the trigonometric scales are divided into decimals instead of into minutes1.
